BrainDistrict Launches Indiegogo Campaign to Fund Free TT3D Service

Cologne, Germany, June 06, 2014 --(PR.com)-- BrainDistrict GmbH today announced its Indiegogo crowd funding campaign to fund the development for Text-to-3D (TT3D). This innovative technology enables creation of 3D objects and scenes by simply typing or speaking descriptions. Users will be able to create 3D houses, villages, cities, landscapes and entire worlds.

Funds from the campaign will be used to develop Text-to-3D client software for various devices such as computers, phones, tablets and televisions. A portion of the revenues will help expand the content library, expanding the possibilities of Text-to-3D.

“Creating 3D content can be difficult and expensive,” said BrainDistrict founder and CEO Markus Moenig. “Text-to-3D makes it easy. I believe that creating 3D content by speaking or writing will be the future of how we will engage with 3D content, be it for games, education or general visualization.”

The campaign is now live, and the company is asking supporters to pledge at any level to help fund the project.

While Text-to-3D is already live, the BrainDistrict team is looking to fast-track the process of 3D content creation, which is currently expensive and time consuming for a limited team. With funds from the Indiegogo campaign, BrainDistrict can increase the production time producing a library of content for users to explore. End-user software created with funds from the campaign will be made available free to end users for non-commercial use.

As with most campaigns, BrainDistrict will be offering rewards for funds pledged, which range from the company’s existing line of software products to having the funders’ personal names or company names randomly incorporated into 3D worlds and scenes. As a funder you can have your name on a billboard, or have a hotel named after you, or even a street with your name or company name.

Rewards for the highest pledge levels include creation of a custom 3D model that will be tailor made just for that individual or company.

The overall project goal is to reach $75,000.

DataNumen DWG Recovery 1.5 Restores Even Corrupted AutoCAD DWG Files

The main improvement in Version 1.5 is the recovery of files in AutoCAD Release 14 through 2003.

Before buying the DWG recovery program, users will be able to view all of the recovered contents in a preview window, and know exactly how successful their data recovery efforts will be when they install the full version of the application. Registered users can run the software in batch mode to fix any number of damaged DWG files. DataNumen DWG Recovery works with modern drives as well as older media such as CDROMs, floppy disks, and Zip disks.

Skara - The Blade Remains in Final Push to Full Release

Skara – The Blade Remains will combine elements from multiple genres, including:

· MOBAs – arenas, coordination among the players and frenetic action

Because it incorporates so many features from various genres, Skara – The Blade Remains does not fit in any one single category, so the developer has labelled the title a Multiplayer Online Versus title, or a MOV.

Skara – The Blade Remains can support as small as one versus one duels and up to 16 player battles, in which gamers compete for dominance in a fantasy filled world racked by cosmic disaster.

Players choose any of five classes and can customize their character’s appearance, equipment and fighting style. Gamers also decide with whom they will team and create their own factions inside every class. The teams then fight as one with the goal of dominating arenas, expanding their territories and gaining renown in the world of Skara. The best players will be immortalized as heroes and kings, writing history with their successes and failures.

The question for players is...How long can they stay alive in Skara – The Blade Remains?

Skara – The Blade Remains is looking like a hot property. It took the developer only eight days last January to convince the Steam community to Greenlight the game. In February, Skara – The Blade Remains became one of only two games chosen for Microsoft Ventures’ first London Accelerator program.

The developers of Skara – The Blade Remains do not have modest ambitions. Equipped with an Xbox-One developer kit, the team aims to bring the title to Next-Gen consoles. But to add all the bells and whistles they’d like to offer, the studio is going after fan backing.

The Kickstarter campaign will last one month, its goal to raise $35,000 USD, to fund the game’s full release later in 2014.

“We could turn to a VC or AAA publisher to get our game released,” says Cesar Ortega, CFO, Skara. “But then we would be forced to have a constant focus on the bottom line instead of what we wanted to do with it. We would much rather turn to the gaming community directly. They know what they want and we hope they will want us.”

Kickstarter backers will be guaranteed beta access immediately at the end of the campaign, as well as numerous other rewards, if the program is successful.

Rentricity Completes City of Barre In-Pipe Hydro Energy Recovery System

Rentricity’s Flow-to-Wire system captures excess pressure and flow within gravity-fed water distribution pipelines, converting it into clean energy for the electric grid or the customer's onsite use. The site located within the water distribution system of Barre was included as part of an upgrade to a pressure regulator vault and highlights Rentricity’s capabilities for managing pressure while recovering energy within pressurized water systems.

“The City of Barre would like to thank the Vermont Clean Energy Fund and our developer Rentricity for working with the City over the past few years in a logical fashion to help make our water system more sustainable,” says Steve Mackenzie, City Manager. “Barre hopes this will serve as an example to other Vermont cities and water intensive industries in the state that use gravity-fed water." Rentricity’s technology is now available in sizes as small as 5kW for industrial water users like food and beverage processors and large data centers that use cooling water.

Net-metered in-pipe hydro systems like Barre’s represent highly efficient and predicable distributed generation for local grids seeking to be innovative.

In addition to the Barre Project, Rentricity will be commissioning a 325kW site in Palos Verdes, California, a 30kW site in Nova Scotia, Canada, and a 12kW site in North Wales, Pennsylvania later this year.
