Storage Made Easy Brings Private Enterprise File Share and Sync for Amazon S3 to AWS GovCloud

The Storage Made Easy Enterprise solution can be deployed either directly in a private data centre to work with Amazon S3 data, or it can be deployed as an Amazon Machine Image on Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2).

Storage Made Easy enhances the Amazon S3 user experience with native cloud drives, sync-to-desktop Apps for Mac, Windows and Linux operating systems. The two Apps offer different user experiences, with the Cloud drive providing a remote view on data that is stored on the Amazon Cloud. This can be useful when users are familiar working with a mapped internal network drive which offers infrequent access to large amounts of stored data that may ultimately be transitioned to Amazon S3. The drives help ensure a consistent user experience.

The desktop sync app simply enables users to sync desktop files to Amazon S3 easily and efficiently, and is ideal for offline use of files.

The SME software solution also adds a unique visual permissioning console to enable administrators set permissions on folders, or alternatively, Active Directory or LDAP integration is provided and can be used as part of a single-sign-on strategy.

All mobile devices are supported including Android, iOS, Windows phone and BlackBerry. The SME solution also has built in Bring Your Own Device controls to restrict usage of devices. These controls can also be used to set IP or GEO accessibility restrictions.

The SME solution platform also provides a protocol gateway which gives access to Amazon S3 data over standard protocols such as WebDav, FTP, and SFTP enabling complete flexibility of access.

High Gain Amplifiers for Commercial and Military Radar Released by Pasternack

Stevens Signs Memorandum of Understanding with INCOSE for Collaborative Research on Systems Engineering Professional Certification Data

San Diego, CA, June 07, 2014 --(PR.com)-- On April 7, 2014, Stevens Institute of Technology, the legal entity that manages the Systems Engineering Research Center (SERC), a Department of Defense sponsored University Affiliated Research Center, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) to conduct research that the SERC’s Helix project and INCOSE will jointly perform on the data collected from the INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certification Program (SEP).

Stevens and INCOSE have long shared a mutual commitment to support and accelerate knowledge growth in the systems arena, and earlier, on April 5, 2014, the two organizations signed a strategic agreement to promote collaborative and joint activities in systems-related research, education, and knowledge creation and dissemination.

Barbara DeHaven, Director, Office of Sponsored Programs at Stevens, and David Long, President, INCOSE, signed the Helix-INCOSE MOU, a MOU that reflects the salient points that Stevens and INCOSE have established in the strategic agreement. Designed to create a mutually beneficial framework for both organizations, the goal of the MOU is to facilitate and nurture the best systems engineering principles and practices.

Through the joint initiative, SERC will gather data that supports the research objective of the Helix project – to understand the landscape of the systems engineering workforce, and INCOSE will obtain recommendations and counsel on the application data that is collected from the SEP certification program – an INCOSE certification that attests the knowledge and competence of systems engineers globally.

“We all look forward to realizing the benefits from a broad partnership between INCOSE and the SERC. The SERC is the premier academic systems engineering research entity in the US. Handheld remote control devices have to run on batteries as long as possible, with a typical goal of four years before replacement. For example, the RX111 can "snooze" in Software Standby mode and consume only 350nA. Just as important, the RX111 can wake up from this mode in 4.8μs, allowing the MCU to quickly and efficiently update the time display on the remote, respond to keypad inputs or monitor battery status, and then return to sleep mode, thus minimizing the amount of current drain on the battery.

The RX111 offers three different operating modes that can be applied according to the application requirements at any point in time: high speed run mode, middle speed run mode and low speed run mode. And with the RX111, peripherals that aren't required can be completely shut down in every mode, while a flexible clock system allows peripherals to use a clock frequency from the same clock, driving the CPU to achieve the lowest level of power consumption. In short, the RX111 offers the best power down options of any 32-bit MCU available in the market today.

WebActivation is a self-hosted license server that runs on a Windows IIS based website. The license server can activate protected applications or documents created with QuickLicense, DocProtect or AppProtect and companion products. WebActivation 2.0 adds new License Suspend and Subscription features, shopping cart integration, supports both ASP or PHP files to present license related web pages and makes all licensing features available from a 32-bit or 64-bit DLL.

WebActivation consists of a documented design and a set of customizable components. With the default set of EXE, ASP and configuration text files, an automated activation system can be setup quickly. Alternatively, the ASP files can be replaced with the provided PHP files. WebActivation is designed to give a software company complete control and customization of the activation and licensing process.

Software vendors issue serial numbers that control how many computers can run a software license. An automated shopping cart or order process can retrieve Serial Numbers directly from the WebActivation driven website.

WebActivationRT.dll includes all of the capabilities in the WebActivation system using external functions instead of EXE files. The DLL presents a more convenient interface for some web server programming environments. The same DLL is provided in both 32-bit and 64-bit files. Several new interfaces are provided for exposed functions to simplify custom programming from any web programming language.

Users of protected applications or documents can easily activate software on a variety of platforms that include Mac, Windows, Linux and Android. A license application can be easily and securely moved between computers. WebActivation 2.0 simplifies the process of implementing a fully automated, browser-less process for license activation, release and restore without vendor involvement.

WebActivation 2.0 allow a vendor to remotely suspend a customer license for a specific serial number if needed. Software subscriptions can also be managed with a Subscriber field associated with each serial number.

A software vendor uses QuickLicense to configure various types of trial and product licenses, the activation process and any restrictions or limitations on the activated software. A license can be applied to Mac, Windows, Linux or Android application or other kinds of digital products including DLLs, plugins, libraries, spreadsheets and games.

WebActivation supports license activation for PDF, SWF, EPUB, Video, image collections and compiled HTML projects using the DocProtect tool. WebActivation also supports Mac and Windows applications protected with AppProtect.

Any number of protected products, documents or licenses can be distributed, royalty-free. An activated license does not require an Internet connection and the activation process itself can be done without Internet access on the customer computer.

WebActivation 2.0 is $2500 for one web server. It normally requires a dedicated web hosting account that allows ASP or PHP files to run executables that read, write and delete files stored on the vendor web site. Alternatively, the WebActivationRT.dll exposes the same features through external methods and can be easily demonstrated with the included SendWebActivationRT tool.

The WebActivation system includes a tool to edit data files that store serial numbers and license data. It comes with a printed and PDF User Guide with ready-to-use web pages, design diagrams for customization plus technical phone and email support. Ignite Visibility Announces John Lincoln to Teach UCSD Extension Web Analytics Summer 2014
