New Yorker Electronics Features Vishay UVA and UVB Light Sensor with I²C Interface

Northvale, NJ, April 29, 2016 --(PR.com)-- New Yorker Electronics is now distributing Vishay’s VEML6075 UVA/UVB Light Sensor, a Vishay Super 12 Product for 2016. The VEML6075 senses UVA and UVB light and incorporates photodiode, amplifiers and analog/digital circuits into a single chip using a CMOS process. When the UV sensor is applied, it is able to detect UVA and UVB intensity to provide a measure of the signal strength as well as allowing for UVI measurement. This sensor converts solar UV light to digital data with reliable performance under long solar UV exposure.

Vishay's VEML6075 provides excellent temperature compensation capability for keeping the output stable under changing temperature. Its functionality is easily operated via the simple command format of I2C (SMBus compatible) interface protocol. VEML6075’s operating voltage ranges from 1.7V to 3.6V and is packaged in a lead (Pb)-free 4-pin OPLGA package, which offers proven market-proven reliability.

Vishay VEML6075 UVA and UVB Light Sensors are a single-chip solution using CMOS that incorporates photodiodes, amplifiers, analog/digital circuits, and an I2C interface. The VEML6075 is able to detect UVA and UVB intensity to measure signal strength and UVI measurement when the UV sensor is applied. This sensor converts solar UV light to digital data with reliable performance under long solar UV exposure.

Why hotels?
Hackers see hotels as juicy business.

When a phisher considers a hotel, they are thinking of how they can “fish” from the millions of rooms, used by millions of customers, spending millions of dollars.

From booking a room to the payments made at shops and restaurants, hotel chains have complex networks that save enormous amounts of sensitive and private data, just waiting to be compromised. If you stayed at a hotel recently, you might want to double-check your credit card statements…

A troubled history
2015 set a new milestone in this sector with most of the hotel groups, and their support companies, regardless of size, have been victims of cyber-crimes.

• White Lodging - At least 24 hotels were victims of cyber-attacks on separate occasions in 2014 and again in 2015, with some hotels infected by both attacks

• Mandarin Oriental - Infected Point of Service terminals across USA & Europe were stealing Credit card information with each purchase.

• Trump Hotels - Computers and Point of Service terminals in the restaurants and gift shops were infected for 12 months before detection.

• Starwood - 54 of their hotels fell victim to malware that infected Point of Service terminals, stealing credit card information from clients.

• Hyatt Hotels - Malware infected Point of Service terminals, stole credit card information on purchases in restaurants, spas, golf shops and parking across 250 locations in 50 countries.

• Hilton Worldwide - Point of Service terminals were infected. Credit card information, complete names, expiration dates, and security codes were stolen.

• Hard Rock Las Vegas - Criminals infiltrated the network, accessed and used a total of 173,000 stolen credit cards.

• Rosen Hotels & Resorts - Point-of-sale terminals were infected with malware for 18 months until February 2016.

This is not a fad
The hotel sector has become one of the most lucrative targets for cyber-criminal gangs, with millions be spent and a constantly refreshing target base of visitors.

With off-the-shelf malware available specifically designed to scrape credit card information from the POS systems prevalent in hotel chains, it is clear that these hackers won’t be going away anytime soon.

This alarming situation not only affects the sector economically, but it endangers their reputation, causes panic among their customers (especially endangering data of business travellers) and destabilizes the business.

Aspose team is pleased to announce the release of Aspose.Email for .NET 6.4.0. Aspose.Email API now lets users send calendar invitations using its Exchange Web Service (EWS) client. This requires, however, to delegate user rights to the receiver who the calendar invitation is sent. The invitation must be sent by converting from MSG format to TNEF EML format using the IEWSClient of the API as illustrated in thhe documentation article, sending calendar invitation. This month’s release introduces a new feature where the ImapClient API has been enhanced for moving a message from one folder to another. The MoveMessage method of ImapClient API provides this functionality using the message’s unique id or sequence number. It has also enhanced the API’s IMAP client for searching messages with paging support simultaneously. The API now provides the ListMessagesByPage method that takes ImapQueryBuilder and number of items per page as input parameters. This allows to list filtered messages from the server with control on the number of items to be retrieved per page. This month’s release introduces another enhancement of saving messages as Microsoft Office Template (OFT) file. The MailMessage as well as MapiMessage API can be used to save the messages as OFT file format. They introduced features of paging support for listing messages, appointments and folders in IMAP as well as Exchange clients in one of Aspose previous releases. The implementation, though providing the functionality, was not that much user friendly. It now enhances this functionality by implementing it in separate classes. The new implementation provides ease of use and better understanding of the functionality. Aspose.Email API now provides support for setting Timezone context for EWS Client. This release also enhances the functionality of creating a task. The API now supports creating an Outlook task with zero occurrences similar to Microsoft Outlook. This can be achieved by using the StartDate and EndDate properties of MapiCalendarRecurrencePattern. This month’s release also fixes a number of bugs reported with the earlier versions of the API. The product release notes of this month’s version lists all of these along with the status. The main bug fixes & improved features added in this release are listed below:
