Miami, FL, December 07, 2018 --( SportsEdTV is giving a dream day of coaching with two-time Australian Open winner, Ellis Ferreira, to the high school that watches the most videos on SportsEdTV between December 7, 2018 and February 7, 2019. High school tennis players, and their friends and family who enter the contest, can also win one of 10 Volkl tennis racquets and one of 150 SportsEdTV t-shirts.

“High school tennis is an important part of the tennis landscape in the United States, and it doesn’t always get the attention it deserves,” said SportsEdTV Co-Founder and Director of Tennis, John Eagleton. He added, “We want to support the players, coaches and families by giving them a chance to win a dream coaching day that would be impossible for most high school tennis players to ever get. Who wouldn’t want a grand-slam winner coaching their high school team for a day? It’s a chance of a lifetime.”

“I’m excited to help SportsEdTV bring this opportunity to a high school team,” said Ellis Ferreira, two-time Australian Open champion. He added, “Good coaching can really separate players at this age, and the best athletes don’t always get the best coaching. I’m always ready to share what I learned as a professional tennis player with others looking to improve. Many of these high school players are playing for fun, but some want to get a scholarship to college or turn pro some day. I want to help them.”

The WATCH & WIN promotion kicks off on December 7, 2018 and runs through February 7, 2019. To enter, players, coaches and anyone trying to help their high school win can go to and click the enter button on the home or landing page. In addition to possibly winning the coaching day, SportsEdTV is giving away 10 Volkl tennis racquets and 150 SportsEdTV t-shirts. There is no limit to how often a person can enter, and the more visits they make to SportsEdTV to watch videos, the better the chances of winning.

About SportsEdTV: provides free, world-class, online video instruction in over thirty sports. Boca Raton, FL, December 07, 2018 --( Ask My Buddy, Personal Alert Network, a platform for providing users with a voice-activated assistance network, announced today that its Co-founder, Pat Coggins, was awarded a 2018 AARP Purpose Prize Fellowship Award at its annual Prize Ceremony at The United States Institute Of Peace in Washington, DC on December 5, 2018. Honoring the concept that making a difference doesn't stop as you age, AARP acknowledges the millions of older adults using their experience to give back, to solve problems, and to change lives. The AARP® Purpose Prize® and Fellowship awards honor extraordinary individuals who use their life experience to make a better future for all.

Mr. Coggins' experience and knowledge prepared him to recognize that with the advent of voice platforms such as Amazon's Alexa, he could solve a real problem for people of all age groups. Ask My Buddy, Personal Alert Network, is a free "skill" available on Amazon Alexa, Google Home / Assistant, and Microsoft Cortana voice platforms. Ask My Buddy enables voice services such as these to send a "check on me" notification to a user’s Personal Alert Network, just by speaking.

Ask My Buddy is not a substitute for 911 but rather an additional tool offering the security of knowing help is just a shout away. When a user says, "Alexa, Ask My Buddy to Send Help," a "Please check on me" request is immediately sent to the people on the contact list by text message / SMS, an email, and a voice telephone call, all with one command.

“There are many tools available for summoning help,” Coggins acknowledges, “but the most valuable alert method is the one that is accessible when needed. In many cases, valuable time is lost due to the fear of calling 911 until it is too late because of the uncertainty if the urgency will pass. While dialing 911 for emergency services is always recommended, many won't for fear of being billed for it,” he added. “Hip fractures are one of the most serious types of fall injury and are very immobilizing. If the person is not carrying a phone, or a medical device at the time and location of their fall, they will very likely be stuck on the floor until a friend or neighbor checks on them.”

Personal Emergency Response (PERS) devices are popular, however it is reported that the majority of push button devices are never activated for a variety of reasons. Monitoring companies require surprisingly high fees for these PERS devices, while Ask My Buddy provides this basic service for free. Since Ask My Buddy uses one's own contacts such as friends, neighbors, loved ones and even security, front desks, or management offices, it is less ominous to invoke the service and receive the needed assistance.

Moreover, the fear of falling, even without ever actually falling, has its own serious consequences. Seniors who fear falling may restrict their activity. This, in turn, creates premature physical and functional decline, which in turn increases their risk for falls. There is significant benefit combining the security of a voice activated alert system with the incredible variety of possible ways to interact with voice technology as a whole. Users can use the same device and method of interaction to play mind sharpening games, set reminders or alarms, listen to the radio, news broadcasts, or even audible books. Many users even consider the voice device to be a companion and member of the family.

"We believe this functionality and personification of the voice platform provides a sense of security, companionship, and well being in the user, which is more valuable than any one product," Coggins concluded. “The fact that the Ask My Buddy service was acknowledged by AARP in their 2018 Awards just tells us that our efforts to make a difference in people’s lives are being noticed and that feels very rewarding indeed.”

Further information can be found on the Company’s corporate website:

New Taipei, Taiwan, December 08, 2018 --( With the rapid development of Internet of Things connecting "things" and "machines," the number of connected devices is expected to exceed 15 billion by 2020. Thus, there is an emerging need in comprehensive remote gateway device management functionality for the IoT and M2M. This December, WoMaster released a network management platform ThingsMaster OTA providing flexible and secured access from any web browser on PC, tablet or smartphone. It is designed for such operations as setting group device configurations, group reboot, and upgrade of firmware version which are sent directly to WoMaster’s wireless routers (WR series devices) over the air through wireless carriers and not via USB or other connectivity methods.

ThingsMaster OTA features interactive monitoring dashboard and map reflecting:
    - The online/offline/warning status of all connected devices (green/red/orange colors, respectively)
    - Event record (Model name/MAC address/FW version/RSSI/Last Connection Time/Last Activity Time)
    - Signal strength
    - GPS location, speed, and route (integrated with Google Maps).

Too low signal level or too high temperature can negatively effect on network performance and cause downtimes. To prevent this problem, users can customize alerts for such critical events with help of supported Node-RED flow-based programming.

Secure connection and data integrity are guaranteed by supporting VPN, the latest TLS encryption and X.509 authentication.

Chicago, IL, December 08, 2018 --( OnGraviti, an organized, convenient, and much-needed synthesized mobile app that will centralize every element of social networking, connecting, and online dating in just one digital tool, this week announced the app is officially live and available for download in both the Google Play and App Stores.

As the first of its kind multi-purpose app that supports social networking, private feeds, video biographies for a more interactive experience, dating connections, business networking, and roommate location, OnGraviti is the only app every person will need on their phones in the future.

“OnGraviti is positioned to be the app where ‘everything is possible,’ initially focusing on all the essential social needs and networking tools to find love, make business connections, and grow friendships,” said Monsaur Othman, Founder and CEO of OnGraviti. “Every profile comes with its own individual databases, so dating profiles never mix with business networking, and so forth. We are even introducing a Roommate Finder Tool, so individuals can find roommates based on common interests, price ranges, and geographic locations.”

Presently, OnGraviti is in Alpha, offering 5 different profiles and services, with more options to come. Users can sift through: My World, Dating, Social, Roommate Finder, and Business.

Within My World, users can comment, like and share posts the same way they do on traditional social media sites. For dating, filter by religion, age, location, occupation, and video bios, so users can see a more personal perspective of their potential match. Through social, users are matched with others liking similar interests and hobbies as a quick way to kick-start convo. For business, welcome to a new kind of social networking, where users manage a profile and search skillsets for valuable lead opportunities. Lastly, filter potential roommates through videos and geographic location to expedite the stressful process.

Placing special emphasis on privacy within each database, OnGraviti was coded with immutability in mind so sensitive information and identities are protected at all times.

“We are combining the most popular elements of the Internet in one easy to use app that keeps everything separate, organized, and easily accessible for our users,” said Othman. “Managing a variety of profiles, information, social networks, and more all at once can be confusing and tiring, so we have put everything the average user wants in just one app. As the first app of this kind to hit Western markets, we can’t wait to hear feedback from our future downloaders.”

Northvale, NJ, December 08, 2018 --( New Yorker Electronics has teamed up with N2Power Power Solutions to develop a global supply chain for Power Supply products. A subsidiary of Qualstar, N2Power is a leading manufacturer of environmentally friendly high-efficiency, ultra-small, power-dense power supplies.

With designs getting smaller and smaller and "real estate" becoming a critical factor, N2Power Open-Frame power supplies are some of the smallest AC-DC 125W to 500W units on the market. It has vast experience in developing extremely small volumetric size through state-of-the-art packaging, yielding power densities over 15 watts/cubic inch.

They are also highly efficient, meaning less loss of energy in the form of heat – yielding higher MTBF and lower cooling costs. In fact, most models require little or no forced air cooling. This also results in reduced energy consumption, decreased AC loads, increased reliability and lower operating costs.

Designing power supplies for critical medical systems requires the highest level of technical prowess and reliability. Because of the nature of the medical requirements, power supplies have to comply with stringent regulatory and certification systems – such as ultra-low leakage levels. N2Power has implemented high-level risk measures far above ISO requirements.

This level of reliability and efficiency makes them popular in the expanding medical and lighting/LED markets but also in information technology, transportation, broadcast, industrial, kiosks, gaming and test equipment applications.

    Features & Benefits:
    - Green by design - many supplies achieve up to 93% efficiency
    - Some designs offer active current sharing and an OR'ing diode for redundancy
    - Single and multi-output models
    - I2C (PMBus™) interface for digital power management
    - Remote on/off

New York, NY, December 08, 2018 --( Londa Schiebinger is the John L. Hinds Professor of History of Science at Stanford University and founding Director of “Gendered Innovations in Science, Health and Medicine, Engineering, and Environment. She is a leading international expert on gender in science and technology and an elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Her work on Gendered Innovations harnesses the creative power of sex and gender analysis to enhance excellence and reproducibility in science and engineering.

Professor Schiebinger received her PhD from Harvard University in 1984. Over the past thirty years, her work has been devoted to teasing apart three analytically distinct but interlocking pieces of the gender and science puzzle: the history of women’s participation in science; gender in the structure of scientific institutions; and the gendering of human knowledge. She presented this work to the United Nations in 2010 and again in 2014. She is a recipient of numerous prizes and awards, including the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Research Prize and Guggenheim Fellowship. She is the author of numerous prize-winning books, including The Mind has No Sex? Women in the Origins of Modern Science and Nature’s Body: Gender in the Making of Modern Science.

Schiebinger’s recent research analysed gender in Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI is the next big thing, which is shaping technology gender in a unique way. It incorporates in ways that scientists couldn’t even think of back in the 20th C. However, as Schiebinger points out that AI might unknowingly perpetuate past bias into the future, even when the governments, universities and companies and big giants like Google and Facebook seek to foster equality. Schiebinger’s research was inspired by the integration of AI with society.

According to Schiebinger, AI is prevalent in present-day societies which have elements of gender and ethnicity. In this new age era of algorithms, Schiebinger observed that algorithm bias arose from multiple sources, which ranged from human bias to unconscious choices in the algorithm design. On close examination, Schiebinger saw that a lack of proper monitoring and regulation in the era of machine learning might lead to social inequities. She suggests the need for researchers to understand how gender and ethnicity operate within the context of the algorithm. She has further suggested some “avenues to reduce bias in training data and algorithms in efforts to produce AI that enhances social equalities.”

She has given an elaborate analysis of gender and has described gender, gender norms, gender identity and gender relations in her paper.

Furthermore, Schiebinger has mapped known examples of human bias amplified by technology. She observed how men are more often offered high paying jobs via google ads in comparison to women. Schiebinger also analysed factors which, intersected with sex and gender. She has uniquely elucidated examples of ethnic bias and gender intersecting with ethnicity in her work.

Schiebinger has suggested the building of training databases to avoid bias, to develop methods that can algorithmically detect and remove bias. She has recommended solutions that can create AI to result in high-quality techniques and social justice. According to her, attention to infrastructure issues is prime, a rigorous social benefit review should be in place, the creation of interdisciplinary and socially diverse teams is essential and integration of social issues into the core CS curriculum would aid in the transformation of AI usage.

She has agreed that AI will play an important role in reshaping economics and societies. According to Schiebinger, rather than creating social inequalities, humans have the intellect and the power to enhance the quality of life worldwide and AI should catalyse such efforts.

Denver, CO, December 10, 2018 --( Makeena, the fast-growing boulder-based startup known for connecting brands with shoppers for good was recognized by TiE Denver as part of the inaugural group of 50 Colorado Startup Power Ranked Companies. According to its website, TiE Denver states that “[p]romising Colorado startups will be assessed and ranked by employing metrics used by venture capitalists to create the Colorado Startup Power Rankings. Once compiled, the rankings will help investors both within and outside of TiE to have a quick point of reference when sourcing investment opportunities.”

”Makeena is proud to be recognized for its hard work in the Martech (marketing technology) category and is honored to be ranked #1 among other incredible companies in the robust Colorado startup community,” stated Karen Frame, CEO & Co-founder of Makeena. “The natural products industry is a rapidly expanding market in the US, with more families and shoppers wanting to be able to access both information and savings so they can enjoy the benefits of choosing good for you and the planet products,” explained Frame. “Creating a solution that would help make better products available and affordable to any shopper anywhere is extremely important to all of us at Makeena,” said Frame. Additionally important is that for brands that market their products on the platform, Makeena’s technology allows them to build relationships with the consumer, and then gain insights with shoppers who are engaging with them all across the US.

How It Works: Makeena users can browse and select any number of thousands of healthy products on their smartphones. After the product is purchased, at the store or online, users simply scan the UPC and take a photo of the receipt to trigger an electronic deposit to their Makeena account. Once the user reaches $20 in his or her account, he or she can cash out using Paypal or Venmo. Discounts may add up to several dollars cash back, or may include free trials, buy-one-get-one-free, a percentage off a purchase, or other type of promotion.

The Future: Thanks to the hard work of the team at Makeena, loyal customers using the app, and great brands like Bobo’s, Boody Eco Wear, Boiron, Ocean’s Halo, Primal Pit Paste, Bellucci Olive Oil, Paleo Powder Seasonings, Evo Hemp, WeWarriors, Lundberg Farms, Health-Ade Kombucha, Hip Chick Farms, Beanitos, This Bar Saves Lives, and about 60 others, Makeena will continue to grow and thrive for years to come. COO of Makeena, Tom Teynor added, “We are thrilled to be honored by TiE Denver and congratulate all of the other companies named as well. To be part of this vibrant startup community in Colorado is truly an honor.”

About Makeena: Makeena connects mission-driven brands with mission-driven shoppers. For shoppers, the Makeena app offers a fun way to discover and try natural and eco-friendly products, while also making those products more affordable and accessible through discounts and targeted promotions. For brands, Makeena’s proprietary analytics platform offers unprecedented insight into who is buying their products, what motivates them, and where they buy -- in-store or online. Modesto, CA, December 10, 2018 --( Delhi High School student Lovejit Gill, 16, founded a non-profit initiative called Finlify while in high school, designed to teach community members as young as 8-years-old to 45-years-old, how to manage their wealth and live within their means.

As an aspiring financial advisor, his passion for finance drove him to create an environment in which he can share his knowledge and encourage the people in his community to improve their financial skills.

Finlify came to fruition when Lovejit identified the need to educate people on what true wealth means, its mission being to teach people about passive income streams.

With the combination of his passion for finance, and the community’s need for information on wealth management, Lovejit founded Finlify with the help from Crimson Education’s leadership mentoring support, and has so far delivered a series of eight workshops designed to help participants “realize how to build long term wealth and the common mistakes people often make,” he said.

“When I was a little kid, I saw how adults would spend money on materialistic things and wouldn't live within their means. It seemed as though they were trying to appear rich instead of being rich. And that’s the reason why I started the organization, to close the wealth inequality gap,” Lovejit says.

With the younger age groups, Lovejit says he caters his workshops to match their needs more directly. “Younger children won’t know about the complex stock market,” he says, so he designed and delivered workshops teaching children how to create a budget report and to monitor money that is being spent.

Lovejit was inspired to bring his initiative to the community after winning a regional finance competition in 2017. “Last year I competed in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and I placed first in the personal finance regional competition.

“Afterwards I thought ‘what can I do with all this knowledge to help the community?’ So I contacted local churches and they liked the initiative, and I just started from there,” Lovejit says.

Finlify’s inspiration comes from familial support and finance moguls like Warren Buffett. Lovejit’s older siblings instilled a drive in him to make him want to be better and plan for a future that fosters good habits, is humble, and filled with hard work.

He aims to attend a school like Wharton, where he can build his network of connections and accumulate experience to eventually start his own hedge fund or private equity firm.

Crimson Education, a personalized education and mentoring company are providing Lovejit with mentoring to help him discover his interests and pursue studies at a top-ranked university.

"Over the years, we have seen that students do best throughout high school and in college admissions when they pursue extracurriculars they are passionate about," said Anjali Bhatia, a Wharton MBA grad who is the U.S. Head of Crimson Education.

"Lovejit is an excellent example of someone who truly loves and understands the ins and outs of finance and has looked to share that knowledge with the community."

Lovejit’s Crimson Extracurricular Mentor, Naina Mishra, who is currently studying Learning and Organizational Change and Economics at Northwestern University, says the process has been a rewarding one. Together, they set goals, established partnerships, created a marketing plan and implementation roadmap.

“Lovejit is very enthusiastic about finance and eager to use his financial knowledge to positively impact others. He's always buzzing with new ideas, and he takes the initiative to implement each of them.”

During the school year, Lovejit keeps abreast with finance industry news and continues to build his knowledge by watching TED Talks and competing in FBLA conferences focusing on personal finance. He works diligently to fulfill his leadership roles, creating a meaningful environment that is a productive use of his time.

Moving forward with Finlify, Lovejit is focusing on his future education and career, but would like to expand his workshops and do a tour of the Silicon Valley.

For more information regarding the program and how to get involved, please visit

Lovejit’s initiatives were supported by Crimson Education, an education consultancy company, with over 2,300 tutors and mentors based at the world’s top-ranked universities. Crimson provides support to students across academic tutoring, standardized test prep, leadership and extracurricular mentoring and university admissions consulting.

Seattle, WA, December 11, 2018 --( Enterprise Composer™ offers a seamless and efficient way for every Visio® user into the world of professional business process management (BPM) systems and process automation. By using Enterprise Composer™, Microsoft® Visio can create executable processes fully compatible with BPMN™ 2.0 standard from OMG®, which is the global de-facto etalon for modeling business processes and can be used both by businesses and IT. Every BPM practitioner working with Microsoft® Visio now can import BPM models created in most popular BPM suites directly into Visio® and can export models created in Visio® for further execution on all compatible BPM platforms implementing BPMN™ 2.0 standard.

Microsoft® Visio is one of the leading tools used to design business diagrams in companies of different sizes and specialization. Full support of BPMN 2.0 is among the prominent and widely acclaimed features of Microsoft® Visio 2016. However, Visio® itself does not support exchange of BPMN diagrams with other tools. The new release of Enterprise Composer™ removes these limitations entirely. Users can draw BPMN models in standard Visio® Professional and then exchange them transparently with any other BPMN tool not leaving their familiar Visio® environment.

"BPMN IN ACTION" event organized by The Object Management Group (OMG) will present real-time exchange of Visio® BPMN diagrams with other process modeling and execution tools by using Enterprise Composer™.

VOS Digital Media Group has entered into partnerships with several leading global news agencies and will be managing premium video and other media content in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and Arabic. These partners will leverage the VOS VX core technology to access new audiences and increase revenue from their video business.

“Plans are underway to expand our business into the LATAM, European and middle Eastern markets in 2019,” stated Paul Feller, Chairman and CEO. “This will be followed by further business developments in the Asian market place planned to take place in 2019. “Our multi-lingual common taxonomy and automated cross-walking technology will allow us to quickly, and with minimal human effort, categorize the expanding non-English content we are ingesting,” says CTO Julio Hernandez-Miyares. “That will make it easier for our Publisher partners to find what they are looking for regardless of language.”

    About VOS Digital Media Group:

VOS is a global digital video exchange and technology platform providing a seamless process for bringing together content creators and media companies. We specialize in providing and maintaining content sales and sourcing scalability, reducing labor and editorial costs, eliminating errors in metadata assignment and extraction, and drastically decreasing the time to market for both video creators and buyers.

She became the first African-American female commentator employed by a national network when CBS hired her in 1972.

During Payne's career with The Chicago Defender, she covered several key events in the Civil Rights Movement, including the Montgomery Bus Boycott and desegregation at the University of Alabama in 1956, as well as the 1963 March on Washington.

Joining U.S. Congressman Adam Clayton Powell, Jr., noted author Richard Wright and other luminaries of the day, she attended the April 1955 Bandung Conference - a gathering of representatives from 29 independent Asian and African countries, held in the city of Bandung, Indonesia. Wright showcased some of his exchanges with Miss Payne in his 1956 book, The Color Curtain: A Report on the Bandung Conference.

Ethel Payne taught courses at Fisk University - a historically Black institution (HBCU) in Nashville, Tennessee, (USA), during the tenure of Dr. Walter J. Leonard (1929 – 2015) as president of the university.

The Kenya Diaspora Homecoming Convention is organized by The Kenya Diaspora Alliance (KDA) through the Diaspora Investment Club Limited (DICL). The conference seeks to create platforms that leverage the role of the Diaspora community as a vital part of Kenya’s economic, cultural and ideological change.

The AFRICAN CONNECTIONS Research and Education Fund, Inc. (ACREF) was created in direct response to the numerous distortions, half-truths and omissions seen almost daily in the popular media regarding Africa, her people and the African Diaspora.

Headquartered at Harambee Farm in North Carolina’s historic Green Creek Township, ACREF’s principal mission is to illuminate, to educate and to provide a balanced viewpoint that celebrates genuine achievement and service to humanity. In telling these important stories, the organization seeks to highlight the physical, cultural, religious, intellectual, political, economic and geographic diversities of the continent and of the African Diaspora.

Stevenson College is one of ten residential colleges at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC). The Stevenson College theme, “Self and Society” emphasizes the goals of both self-understanding and active participation in one‘s community.

A working model in Experiential Education, the Focus on Africa series at UCSC's Merrill College has a dual emphasis: A.) upon current affairs on the African continent, and, B.) on specific methodologies that participating students can use in building viable constituencies for Africa – on campus and in their home communities. Areas of specific focus include: Public Health, Media, Technology and Education, Energy and Transportation.

The University of California, Santa Cruz is a public research university in Santa Cruz, California, (USA). It is one of 10 campuses in the University of California system. Located 75 miles (120 km) south of San Francisco at the edge of the coastal community of Santa Cruz, the campus lies on 2,001 acres (810 hectares) of rolling, forested hills overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Monterey Bay.

Founded in 1965, UC Santa Cruz is qualified under U.S. Federal Law (the Higher Education Opportunity Act, Title V, 2008) as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). Wilmington, DE, December 11, 2018 --( Cybele Software, Inc. is excited to announce the latest iteration of z/Scope Anywhere, version 8.5, a full-featured web terminal emulator.

“Anywhere” is in the name of z/Scope Anywhere for a very good reason. It alludes to an important advantage of the product - it allows secure web access of host systems to employees, contractors, clients, students, and other users from anywhere in the world with no setup or special applications required on the client side.

All that is needed is Internet access and an HTML5-compatible browser running on Windows, Mac, Linux®, Chromebook™, iOS®, or Android™ devices. So now your terminal applications will be available globally and on mobile devices with its support of both touchscreens and virtual keyboards, as well.

z/Scope Anywhere web-to-host terminal emulator comes with an array of useful features. It provides extensive support for multiple protocols including TN3270E, TN5250E, VT100, VT220, VT320, VT420, SSH1 and SSH2 Telnet Servers. It also includes an integrated FTP client with IND$FILE, KERMIT, X-MODEM, Y-MODEM, and Z-MODEM transfers and job queue management. And, it includes integrated TN3287 and TN3812 printer emulations with printing queue, print preview, and other print functions.

z/Scope Anywhere allows for several terminal sessions to be opened simultaneously. It has multiple display modes including Classic mode of older versions, a Cover Flow display mode that allows the user to visually flip through the connections, a Gallery mode that displays the connections as thumbnails, and a Grid mode that aligns and displays the connection sessions in a grid pattern. Additionally, browser tabs can be used to manage distinct connections among host systems.

Security is always a concern when interacting with sensitive data or crucial systems, so z/Scope Anywhere was designed to provide a secure 128-bit encrypted connection. It supports TLS (Transport Layer Security) and uses Secure Shell Version 2 (SHH2). Although depreciated, it also supports SHH1, SSL2, and SSL3.

Another great benefit of the product is that it provides an easy to implement means of upgrading the user interface (UI) of older terminal-based applications. Many corporations, hospitals, universities, and organizations still use legacy terminal-based applications running on IBM Mainframes, AS/400 Midrange systems (iSeries or System i), and other Unix-based host systems. Terminal-based applications normally do the job they were intended for just fine but suffer from a very dated UI. These text-based UIs were the norm forty years ago, and if you are accustomed to working in a Unix environment they may still be familiar to you. But this is not the case for the rest of the world.

Today’s end user is expecting a modern-day interface. As your workforce or user base transitions, learning how to use these older interfaces can be a real hurdle for generations used to the Mac®, Windows®, and the Web. However, it may not make economic sense to replace these legacy applications right away. This is where z/Scope Anywhere steps in to provide a cost-effective solution for a new modern interface that can be implemented quickly with common Web development tools.

z/Scope Anywhere lets you develop new interfaces and Web-widgets using just JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. It also works well with the latest Web technologies like Angular, React, Vue.js, etc. z/Scope Anywhere’s JavaScript development framework is comprised of the high-level HLLAPI.js API library and the HostSurfer.js class.

HostSurfer is a JavaScript development framework that works with the HLLAPI.js library to interface with the application using the underlying original terminal screen as the data source. Since the new UI is a separate layer there is no need to change the original application. It can still be accessed as before, if needed. And if you run into any implementation challenges, Cybele Software also offers a collaborative support platform to help with all your mainframe modernization, legacy extension, and Web-enablement needs.

The latest version of z/Scope Anywhere, 8.5, is faster than ever. Its efficient new architecture allows for more concurrent users than past versions. The new license tab provides easy access to the current number of live connections. And, Version 8.5 now supports two-factor (2FA) or multi-factor authentication including DUO 2FA, SAML, Okta Oauth 2.0, and Forgerock OAuth 2.0.

For more information and details regarding z/Scope Anywhere features and licensing, please visit or contact Cybele Software, Inc.

Requirements: A server machine running a Windows OS is required. For scaling and load balancing deployments, a gateway server(s) running a Windows OS is required. Compatible host systems include IBM mainframes, AS/400, and Unix-based systems. The client machine requires an HTML5-compliant Web browser such as Chrome, Microsoft Edge, IE10/11, Safari, Opera, or Firefox.
