Create a Floating License Server for Any App

Henderson, NV, November 11, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Excel Software announced QuickLicense Server 2.0 for macOS and Windows. A developer can generate a vendor-branded, floating license system for their Mac, Windows or Linux applications. Vendors enjoy royalty free distribution for any number of products or licenses. Version 2 was enhanced for the new QuickLicense 9, new Mac and Windows OS changes, adds Code Signing of the generated Server and Monitor applications and uses 64-bit macOS Mojave compliant executables.

A floating license system consists of a License Server, License Monitor and Protected Applications. The License Monitor is used by a customer to securely configure the Server IP address and Port, change the number of purchased licenses or monitor server operation. The License Server silently manages the number of allowed concurrent Apps in use on a customer network.

The QuickLicense Server Windows edition generates Server and Monitor applications that run on any Windows 7, 8 or 10 computer. It can manage protected Apps running on macOS, Windows or Linux computers connected to that network. Likewise, QuickLicense Server on macOS generates a License Server and Monitor application that runs on any macOS computer with 10.10 or later and serves macOS, Windows or Linux Apps.

The MakeServer application provided by the QuickLicense Server product generates the Server and Monitor Apps using a 10-minute point and click process. The macOS, Windows or Linux Apps are protected with QuickLicense using a programming API or point and click wrapping process. QuickLicense can protect and license almost any software including a business application, Unity3D game, MAX MSP music application, Excel workbook, MS Access project, FileMaker application or Adobe plugin. The system also works with DocProtect to protect PDF files, slide shows, video, audio and EPUB files or compiled HTML based applications.

A developer can brand the License Server and Monitor applications with their own file names, icons, user presented Monitor window and dialog text customizations and security features. Vendors can offer and price their products with various numbers of floating licenses. Additional licenses can be securely added to the License Server running at a customer site by typing a code into the License Monitor.

Since QuickLicense Server requires no programming, new revenue streams can quickly be added for existing software products. Applications can be licensed to meet the needs of an organization. Customers enjoy the ability to use floating licenses across all computers on their network with minimal administrative effort and no Internet access required.

QuickLicense Server 2.0 is $995 for a Single User License on either Windows 7, 8 or 10 or macOS 10.10 or later. The product includes a User Guide with step-by-step tutorial. Excel Software provides online demonstration videos, detailed product information, free technical support and secure online ordering.

Abrado Successfully Performs Two Complex Dual Casing String Windows Using Its Proprietary Medusa® Expandable Section Milling Technology

Houston, TX, November 12, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Abrado Successfully performs two complex dual casing string windows using its proprietary Medusa® Expandable Section Milling Technology for Super Major on International P&A project to mitigate sustained casing pressure.

Abrado announced today that it has successfully completed a complex Dual-String Casing Section Milling plug and abandonment project on the South American continental shelf using its proprietary Medusa® expandable casing
section-milling technology.

Previous attempts by the Operator to P&A the well proved unsuccessful; including perforating through casing and squeezing off cement to eliminate sustained casing pressure (SCP). It was decided that section milling through two casing strings out to sound casing/formation would deliver a final seal in the wellbore to allow for permanent abandonment. Due to the complexity of the wellbore architecture, deep and intermediate cement barriers were successfully set in place after Abrado section milled extended length dual string windows in the 9 5/8” X 13 5/8” casing.

The lower window was under-reamed by Medusa® to virgin formation to accept an inflatable packer and the upper window outer 16” casing was scrubbed clean by Medusa® to optimize cement bond efficiency in both cases.

Medusa’s ability to mill both downwards and upwards as a contingency in the same run, coupled with the tool’s ability to be “non-damaging” to the next casing string was paramount to the success of the project. Abrado supported the project in country with project management and onsite P&A expertise.

A New Revolutionary Superconducting Application Which Replaces an Existing Grid by Hai-Hu Wen from Oasis Publishers

New York, NY, November 13, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Almost 100 years after since 1911 when Dutch physicist Heike Onnes discovered that mercury bears an electrical resistance of zero when cooled in liquid helium, superconductors were then finally rolled out for utilization in national electricity grids. Superconductivity has brought into being many thrilling applications. The power of Storing and Transferring are an integral part of several of these applications. The scientific study performed by professor-author Hai-Hu Wen talks about some such exciting applications and some limitations.

Further deciding to investigate on a promising property for a superconductor taking into account the 2 powers of superconductivity is found that it can carry non-dissipative current. This makes the superconductor to have the utmost potential to produce massive magnetic field when making the superconductor into a magnet. This potentiality enables for favorable application in the medical treatment, high-energy stimulation, new generation maglev transport, and regulated nuclear fusion, etc.

That said, for a superconductor to carry the non-dissipative super current, a boundary, referred, the irreversibility line Hirr(T), plays an important role. Hai-Hu Wen stated in a study that if a superconductor can transfer higher non-dissipative supercurrent with a higher irreversibility magnetic field, it will have a vantage point for applications.

Probing into the power applications, the author tracked down that the key factor restraining the high power applications for a type-II superconductor is the – irreversibility line Hirr(T) that bounce back the very boundary of resistive dissipation of phase diagram in magnetic field vs. temperature.

In cuprate lineage, the Bi-, Y-, Hg- and Tl-based systems have superconducting transition temperatures surpassing the liquid nitrogen boiling temperature (~77K). Even so, the toxic elements Hg and Tl in the latter two systems spiritedly restrain the prospective applications. The Bi-based (2223) system is nontoxic, but the irreversibility magnetic field is extinguished in the liquid nitrogen temperature zone. Having this in view, what author views as an ideal stance so far is – relying on the YBa2Cu3O7 (Tc~90 K) system which is not only nontoxic but also has a comparatively high irreversibility magnetic field. It is discovered that the irreversibility magnetic field is exceptionally high among all superconductors and hence renders a strong potential of applications in the liquid nitrogen temperature boundaries.

Since these compounds bear "zero resistance," they can transport a "lot" of current with "no" loss and fundamentally they have the capacity to store energy in the form of a current loop "forever!" Say this fundamental is factual; the only fee would be to keep the compounds below the critical temperature and to transform the energy to a chosen form. High power applications of superconductors have been recognized since the arrival of superconductivity but high field/current capacity depicted in the early 60's.

The author brings into light some of the visionary ideas for the future applications of superconductivity. One of them being, generation of solar power in spheres where it is plentiful and carry it to regions in an intercontinental grid where it is needed. For the reason, the sun shines at any given time somewhere on the earth, this grid would eliminate the necessity for storing energy. Realizing the increasing inflation of the world economy and the very variable currency, the authors of this work guesstimate that this approach would deliver 70% of the electrical power needs at a mere low investment.

Superconductors are principally an impeccable conductor - not a splendid storage. The energy it is capable to store is just the electricity and it is, by first fundamentals, less than what can be compressed in gasoline. So it becomes appropriate when we are out of gasoline and when other storage means like thermal, hydro, etc. are comparable in politics of implementation.

Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage (SMES) stands as a promising candidate since it is a far more generic way of storing energy and allows us to skillful redeem it, with some practical restrictions.

The Defense Department Puts Industry on Notice That Cybersecurity is Moving to the Forefront

Nashua, NH, November 13, 2018 --(PR.com)-- This past week, Ellen Lord, the DoD Under Secretary for Acquisition and Sustainment, said the Pentagon is going to bolster the “absolutely critical” cybersecurity requirements for future contracts, as well as look into how to apply those restrictions retroactively. In making this announcement, Undersecretary Lord moved forward on remarks a month ago by Deputy Defense Secretary Pat Shanahan who said that prime defense contractors have a “responsibility to manage the supply chain” and noted their failure to do so is “where we have real gaps in security.”

Online Ad Professionals Needed to Judge Internet Advertising Competition Awards

Boston, MA, November 13, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The Web Marketing Association’s 17th annual Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) Award program is currently accepting entries and is looking for qualified judges to help adjudicate this year’s award program. The IAC Awards are the first and only industry-based advertising award competition dedicated exclusively to online advertising.

To nominate yourself or someone within your organization, please complete the Judge’s Nomination Form. Internet and advertising professionals selected as judges will be contacted during the first week of January.

“We are looking to expand the judging pool for the awards by bring on qualified advertising professionals to help us set the standard of excellence for online advertising,” said William Rice, president of the Web Marketing Association, Inc. “We created the IAC Awards to highlight the best in this unique advertising medium by industry and need additional individuals who have direct experience developing online advertising. Judging for the IAC Awards will take place in February, 2019.
